How I got out of Bronze
Hello, I am a summoner who was placed Bronze V this season and made it into Silver V today after 237 games. Based on the playstyle and skills that players at my elo have, I wanted to talk about some good champions and general tips.
: Since ADCs have a hard time kiting, Volibear can use Q and E to displace them favorably. W and ult do a lot of unexpected damage in fights, and people forget about his passive.
: Mistakes happen almost every second in Bronze, and Blitz has a perfect kit to exploit those positioning errors. Everyone tends to run straight back instead of sidestepping his hook, and your ult active kills minions that they hide behind.
and
: A 5-man ult almost guarantees a won team-fight. This is easy to accomplish because everyone clumps together closely (even if they see an Amumu or Sej running at them) . Junglers don't counterjungle against them, which could have stopped them before they got to their superior team-fighting presence.
: Most laners don't buy pink wards against Eve, resulting in easy ganks that secure a kill for each lane. Although she doesn't seem to do too well late game, she's usually extremely fed and ends the game quickly.
Summoners choose to play mechanically difficult champs like
. Unless you have a lot of experience and mastery on these champs, it's difficult to carry. I preferred to play simple champs to focus on other aspects of the game.
I personally think it's best to master one or two champions and spam them in ranked. You would consistently do well on your champion every game and know a lot about their potentials and limits. You wouldn't have to remember what to build and how to play on each different champ.
Generally, you should try to minimize your deaths as much as possible. Almost every death in laning phase can be prevented, and not dying too quick as a carry in a team-fight maximizes your damage output. Don't blame your teammates if they're not doing well, try to help them because raging at them won't suddenly make them better. Ward strategically, and look at the mini-map as much as possible. Knowing where the enemy is leads to favorable fights, killing people caught out, and taking objectives. You might not agree with this, but dodge when you really have to. If you see someone with a 28.8% win-rate (52 games played) on Trist who starts arguing and threatening to AFK from champ select, dodging is not a bad choice. If you find it hard to improve your own play, take advantage of your opponent's mistakes.
The more games you play, the closer you will be to your true elo. Even when you feel like you're not improving after playing numerous games, you are climbing and getting better at the game. Good luck, and more importantly, have fun!
EDIT: Both tanks and carries can win you the game, so play whoever you feel most comfortable with. Don't gank lanes that can not take advantage of your help (Revan Senpai). Snowball champions can turn around the game in your favor after a few kills, as long as you do not make bad decisions and die. I only played against Maokai a few times, but he seems to be consistently helpful with his damage reduction and CC late-game (VulDread). Strategically choosing counters against certain champs make them useless later, while you are fed and contribute to the team (CrazyJay11).
(this guy can still destroy things in bronze)
etc.
does that with less fall off lategame, but a slightly weaker early game
can be added to them too
