macOS High Sierra Issues Version 10.13 Beta (17A291m)
TL;DR: Don't upgrade to macOS High Sierra Beta if you want to play league. As of July 11, 2017 I have had many issues not pres
So, I decided to upgrade my MacBook Pro to the latest Beta version, and ever since then I have had issues after issues.
First, I can't properly right click on friends chat bar. So I am unable to spectate games, view their profile, edit notes, etc. I can right click on them to send a message, but when I left click, the drop down bar gets stuck in the top left hand corner of the screen. if I try to hover over any of the items, it reacts but will not activate if I click on it.
A similar thing happened with the chat room box if popped out. it just goes to the top left hand corner of the screen.
Just now, I was going to log in and play a quick game, and I successfully logged in and started talking to one of my friends in chat. Right as I was looking to start the game I noticed that i couldn't join the lobby. It thought that I wasn't connected to the internet. So I figured I would restart the client but now it wont let me in. it says "were unable to log you in because you may be offline" even though I am able to get on this site and report this. I tried removing the line of text based on this riot post but it didn't work. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/help-support/Tb1fUZFV-known-issue-were-unable-to-log-you-in-because-you-may-be-offline
Addendum: Right as I was finishing this post it allowed me to log in. I dont know if it just fixed it self or if I fixed it by changing my DNS in the System Preferences: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201761944-Login-Issues#mq6 CHANGING TO PUBLIC DNS -Click on the Apple icon on the top left of the screen and choose "System Preferences..." -Double-click "Network" -Select the active connection on the left, and click the "Advanced..." button in the lower right hand corner -Click "DNS" from the selection bar. -Remove any current DNS entries, and input the following public DNS servers: -8.8.8.8 -8.8.4.4 -Save your changes by selecting “OK” -Apply the changes by clicking "Apply" in the lower right hand corner
I have tried doing the Full Client Repair and it has not fixed the issues above, and I have even uninstalled and reinstalled once to see if that would fix it. Sadly nothing has worked. The Full Client Repair even failed when I was having the connection issues.
I dont know if these issues are due to Riot, or Apple. So I don't know if they can fix it. My Printer Drivers are also a little messed up too. Since it is a beta operating system it is bound to have some issues and I knew that going in. Prior to updating, I was running the macOS Sierra Beta and I wasn't having any issues.
I have reported a few bug reports so hopefully riot is working/looking into it.
As of July 11, 2017 I would refrain from updating to macOS High Sierra Beta. If you are interested maybe give it a few weeks. If anyone actually reads till the end and would like updates on my experiences just let me know I will try to give and update with Patch 7.15
