macOS High Sierra Issues Version 10.13 Beta (17A291m)

TL;DR: Don't upgrade to macOS High Sierra Beta if you want to play league. As of July 11, 2017 I have had many issues not pres

So, I decided to upgrade my MacBook Pro to the latest Beta version, and ever since then I have had issues after issues.

First, I can't properly right click on friends chat bar. So I am unable to spectate games, view their profile, edit notes, etc. I can right click on them to send a message, but when I left click, the drop down bar gets stuck in the top left hand corner of the screen. if I try to hover over any of the items, it reacts but will not activate if I click on it.

A similar thing happened with the chat room box if popped out. it just goes to the top left hand corner of the screen.

Just now, I was going to log in and play a quick game, and I successfully logged in and started talking to one of my friends in chat. Right as I was looking to start the game I noticed that i couldn't join the lobby. It thought that I wasn't connected to the internet. So I figured I would restart the client but now it wont let me in. it says "were unable to log you in because you may be offline" even though I am able to get on this site and report this. I tried removing the line of text based on this riot post but it didn't work. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/help-support/Tb1fUZFV-known-issue-were-unable-to-log-you-in-because-you-may-be-offline

Addendum: Right as I was finishing this post it allowed me to log in. I dont know if it just fixed it self or if I fixed it by changing my DNS in the System Preferences: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201761944-Login-Issues#mq6 CHANGING TO PUBLIC DNS -Click on the Apple icon on the top left of the screen and choose "System Preferences..." -Double-click "Network" -Select the active connection on the left, and click the "Advanced..." button in the lower right hand corner -Click "DNS" from the selection bar. -Remove any current DNS entries, and input the following public DNS servers: -8.8.8.8 -8.8.4.4 -Save your changes by selecting “OK” -Apply the changes by clicking "Apply" in the lower right hand corner

I have tried doing the Full Client Repair and it has not fixed the issues above, and I have even uninstalled and reinstalled once to see if that would fix it. Sadly nothing has worked. The Full Client Repair even failed when I was having the connection issues.

I dont know if these issues are due to Riot, or Apple. So I don't know if they can fix it. My Printer Drivers are also a little messed up too. Since it is a beta operating system it is bound to have some issues and I knew that going in. Prior to updating, I was running the macOS Sierra Beta and I wasn't having any issues.

I have reported a few bug reports so hopefully riot is working/looking into it.

As of July 11, 2017 I would refrain from updating to macOS High Sierra Beta. If you are interested maybe give it a few weeks. If anyone actually reads till the end and would like updates on my experiences just let me know I will try to give and update with Patch 7.15

I just updated to (17A315i) (Public beta 3), and the problem is unfortunately not solved. Make sure you have lots of spare-time though, this update took me 1 hour and 30 minutes plus three failed attempts where the mac paniced in the middle of the update ;d You might want to run this update in safe mode just to be sure Lux

I just sent Rito a ticket about this, they answered: Please rest assured that we take players' pain very seriously and we will try our best to reduce it. We're not ignoring the issue, on the contrary, we're looking into it. However, we need you to be patient while we're trying to fix it, as this may require some time. :(

Also, please keep in mind that this is a Beta Release and the whole reason behind betas is to find issues with new features, so we can then fix them.

Sadly, it is not possible for me to provide you with a timeline for when we might see a fix on these issues. I want to recommend you to send a bug report, in case you haven't already. The best way to do so is to use the in-game bug report feature, and you can see how to do so here: • https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005466327

The report will go directly to the development QA teams.

Also, if you have a backup/Time Machine, you can try to revert to the previous stable version.

Hello! I already posted a discussion on the matter

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/bug-report/uNEHJM50-1013-high-sierra-problems-with-submenus-right-click-on-summoners-in-chat-and-loot

This seems to appear on all my macs when I upgraded to High Sierra, so I think it's far more wide-spread.

With that being said, Apple has actually made announcements about a connection with League of Legends crashes and the latest beta under known issues, though here it's about another bug that made the client instantly crash when launching:

• League of Legends may quit unexpectedly on Mac models from 2012 and later. – https://9to5mac.com/2017/06/21/macos-10-13-beta-2/

I have encountered suspiciously similar issues to this one with other programs, so I am afraid we have to be patient and cross our fingers the bug will be fixed in the third public beta.

I do not know why, but my Apple Feedback Assistant refuses to send any reports for some reason. Could you do me the favor to simply click ⌘ + spacebar, search for "Feedback Assistant", launch it, and write a bug report on the matter?

Thanks (:

Hopefully they fix it since it's not out of beta and live release. I play on a macbook air and it gets hot when I play ever since I got El kapitan buuuut macos high sierra is supposed to speed us ssd with new file system and also dedicated graphics boost graphics so we'll see maybe I can play without the fans being at 5500rpm @ 80deg
