Galio will not be granted assists if he gives only his W shield to his allies.

I assume providing beneficial status to teammates will grant one assist, but galio won't get any from his W. Is that intentional or a bug? Because healing a teammate that's full hp will not grant you assist, but if that healing has other effects will. For example, Nami heal, old Soraka heal give assist, even when their teammates are full health.
