so my team and i kicked some serious butt (i was nunu) the enemy team surrended and the after game report says we lost...what????

Did your team jokingly surrender when they did? If that's the case AND your team's surrender vote was recognized first by the servers, that would explain the loss.

i did jokingly surrender, but we didn't receive enough votes for yes, i think only myself and 2 other people voted, 2 yes, 1 no, 2 blank

My guess is that the final two did end up accepting the surrender, and the server decides to pick up the last instance of a surrender.

Not an uncommon mistake. For example, in programming, suppose 0 = neither team surrender, 1 = blue team surrender, and 2 = purple team surrender. When Blue surrendered, it triggered the 0 to switch to a 1. Once the purple team surrendered, instead of doing what was logical and not changing anything, it instead switched the 1 to a 2, even though it should need a 0 at that point.

I bet that it does that. Afterall, if 5 people all agree to surrender, it first shows "X team agreed to surrender 4-0", then updates to "X team agreed to surrender 5-0" in the chat, or whatever the correct format is. That's probably evidence that it runs the surrender mechanic twice, though it clearly should only run the first time.

Legitimate bug, I'd say. No reason that should happen, even if completely avoidable.
