I was loading in a game like normal. It started to take a REALLY long time like it does 80% of the time at my elo. Average loading screen can be around 3-4 minutes. After enough Alt+tabs I finally got a prompt from the League client that says there is a problem with my connection (Even though I was still browsing in the background without a hitch).

I finally backed out and reconnected. As soon as it loaded into the game it ended in a re-make. Damn... Lost 18 lp because of a client or connection issue. Then I loaded into the post-game lobby and got this message in yellow text:

"You are ineligible to earn loot due to leaving or AFK behaviors."

What exactly does this mean? Is this a bug or a mistake? I haven't AFK'd ANY of my games and the only other remake in my match history is someone on the enemy team not connecting to the game. Am I REALLY not going to earn anything because of one remake due to a bug?

Well, if you are the one who went "AFK" or was the cause of the remake because of your client issues, then that is the only plausible reason the message would be displayed.

Also, no need to worry too much about any account suspensions or punishments if it really is the one and only time you've done this. Riot will forgive you. The message just states that since you were AFK in this match, or you weren't connected to this match for more that 5 minutes, you will not earn any experience from playing that match.

This happened with me too. My client crashes every time I use my wifi. It works fine when connected to mobile hotspot. What should should...!? smh
