Spellthiefs does not upgrade when quest achieved
Spellthiefs does not upgrade to Frostfang when quest achieved..... same story with coin.

It's not supposed to upgrade itself into Frostfang... Once Frostfang is bought, it gains an upgraded effect (queen's Tribute) once the quest is complete.
That's a minor error on the part of the phrasing. The reward for the quest isn't for it to upgrade itself to the next tier.
The quest requires you to upgrade to the next tier to GET the reward. When it says "Upgrade to Frostfang" it means that you'll get the quest reward upon acquiring Frostfang AND meeting the gold generation level.
That's because they don't. You have to upgrade them yourself.
