key presses not working in game

Sometimes when I load into game (or even randomly in the middle of a game) my keys presses stop working for casting abilities. I can type in chat but in order to cast an ability i have to click the icon on the bottom and then cast it that way. This problem will persist until I have restarted the client. is this a bug with the new client or is there something I am doing wrong?
