Cant adjust runes in champ select

when i open the rune page to try and edit runes, nothing shows up except the x that allows me to close out of the run editting. However, you can see or adjust the runes at all. ive had this issue before and a client restart typically helps but this issue is very irritating when im in a ranked q and need to dodge to fix
