[CRASH] The "Loading Screen Normal, Game Won't Start/Remake" Compilation Thread

This thread is to capture two epidemics:

  1. Clients loading to 100% and never starting the game
  2. Starting the game for 9/10 players, then failing to offer the Remake option.

These related issues are now the most commonly reported.

Issue #1 is suspected to be caused by user PCs running out of RAM, failing to load the game within the permitted time, and being locked out of game initialization. Issue #2 is suspected to happen when the victim of Issue #1 manually closes their loading screen and reloads before the remake window is open.

It is uncertain if low-end PCs are prone to this issue.

If either of these has happened to you since the end of last season (even if you have already created a thread on the matter) please post your experience in this thread as well as any details you may have about the computer you were using, your Internet, and whether it was Ranked or not.

I made a thread elsewhere but was directed to here, so I will post my full experience here as asked.

I was playing Ranked Placements earlier in the day, did two games no problem. I logged out for a bit to take care of some things, about 3 hours I came back and there was a mini patch, did that. I went into ranked queue to continue placing, everything in picks and bans went fine, game started, I tabbed out to check messengers. I tabbed back in when the game still hadnt started and checked the loading bar, it was at 96%. I once had an issue with tabbing out before but it gave me an error message, so I looked and didnt see any error, so I figured something just didnt click and it was taking awhile. 3 minutes later I got an error saying "Game does not exist, feel free to begin a new game." It was worded exactly like that, which I found odd for an error message. The post game screen came up and it said the game was remade, but note that I never left that loading screen, so the game started while I was still loading.

The next game I tried immediately after. Once again everything was fine, what I didnt do was tab out. It loaded to 97% this time and froze. I figured something was wrong, but wasnt sure what I could do but wait. Seven minutes later I load into the game, because they didnt remake, but as soon as I right click the entire client freezes, and when I attempt to task manager, my entire computer freezes and crashes.

I reconnect after rebooting and find that it wasnt a remake but a defeat this time. I have no idea if they were able to remake or not, as I heard tale of a remake not being allowed, but nothing in the post game chat so I couldnt say for certain. Willing to give it one more shot, but this time, I brought a duo to tell me if the game started without me.

Once again, everything fine, until loading screen, loads to 94% and freezes. Friend notes that it takes awhile, but says in call when the game started. Hearing that it started, I disconnect the league client and reconnect. This time the loading screen only goes to 6%. I close it out and reconnect again, and again 6%. At this point they remake, and I am given a leaverbuster with low priority queues as punishment.

This is incorrect my PC is MORE than capable to run League of Legends. I play most games with 180+ frames. On my main account I have this issue stated above where I get lock out or it doesn't load, but on my alternate account I don't have this issue I load in completely fine every game I've tried running high performance PC settings, overclocking, clearing temp files, running LOL as admin. These didnt work for my main account and I don't understand why one account has this issue and the other doesn't? Zed

After the 3 game loading fails I went to my firewall settings (just because) and saw that a few of my League of Legends Inbound settings were blocked. After I set them to unblocked the games started loading all the way, and loading faster than before.

Redirected here. I just lost ranked points thanks to my client sitting at 100% in the loading screen, but failing to connect to the game. Of course, I wasn't aware that I hadn't connected, so I sat and waited for a few moments until something popped up telling me I was no longer connected to the internet. I tried to reconnect, failed, and hit the quit trying to connect option, which then put me in the end game screen because my team had hit remake. No issue. I don't blame them. The problem with this is the fact that I lost points due to an issue on Riot's end that many other users are experiencing.

I shouldn't be afraid to queue for ranked because I might get flagged with leavebuster and I definitely shouldn't suffer LP loss because of it. =/

This does not appear to be a problem unique to low-end PCs. The OP has been updated.

I still have not received a report of this happening in a non-Ranked queue.

Happens to me too, all the time, happens to my friends once in awhile. Too bad all of riots focus is in their other games

I've now hit 20 minute Leaverbuster queues after being unable to connect to a co-op vs AI game and just giving up since after a restart of both my internet and computer before the game and got the problem I just turned off the game (it also took over a minute for the game to recognize it got closed, and then gave me the in-game sounds and popped up the reconnect screen.

All three tiers of Leaverbuster have been from this bug for me. Not being able to connect into the game, rather than leaving the game. LoL is ruining the experience for me and my teammates, not me.

This happened to Wingsofdeath on-stream.

I don't know his exact computer settings, but he's certainly not playing on a laptop, so what causes this?

I am currently having this issue. as i type this. i started a queue with my brother and sister for a party of three and we get in no problem. I then "loaded" in 100% but stayed in the loading screen while they went on to play the game. my screen in stuck in the loading view, i can access the start menu via the window key, can even activate task manager but cannot access it do to the fullscreen loading screen being stuck in priority. the only way i was able to get here to investigate was having two monitors with the web browser already on that screen.

Yeah, I've been having the "stuck at 100% on loading screen" issue for months now. Happens once every 10 games. Not exaggerating. It's at the point where Ranked is unplayable and I'm just thinking of quitting. It's just not worth it. I spend minutes in queue, champ select and loading screen only for the client to freeze. I can't reboot the client or even exit out, so I have to restart my computer, which takes another 5 minutes. Then I come back and I see lost LP and a Leaver. Hundreds of LP lost. Hundreds. It sucks. I come out of a 40-min game I played my heart out to win, only for that win to be instantly negated because the client freezes.

So I've been having this issue for months now. I thought they would fix it by now but no. This is ridiculous. It's not on the PC's specs. I've been playing this game for years with the same 2 Pc/laptop and it's only happening now, randomly, to both at the same time? yeah ok. And its not happening to me or a few only. Every time I'm in comms with people during the loading screen and I tell them what's happening, they already know what I'm talking about. They also experienced it, or heard of it. Almost everyone has. I though maybe it was discord, or my web browser, but no. It happens even when League is the only app running. I mean, I saw it happen live on every League streamer I watch, at least once.

For me, It doesnt matter what game mode I'm playing, it happens for Ranked, Normal Draft, Aram and even TFT (ranked or norms). This is why I'm barely playing any ranked lately. Happened to me 3 games in a row tonight. It was an amazing gaming experience :) It just freezes at 100% and I can't leave (quit/minimize) the loading screen by any mean.

ALT TAB? doesn't work. Only show the alt-tab menu with all the open apps, but once you release it on a different window, it just keeps you on the loading screen.

WINDOWS KEY + D? doesn't work. Only the task bar appears but you are still stuck on the loading screen, even if you click on a different app on the task bar.

ALT F4? doesn't work. at all.

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC? well, I know the task manager opens, I just can't see it (because League Loading screen is always showing on my screen and have prio on anything else), therefore I can't interact with it and end task.

WINDOWS KEY + TAB? well it shows you all the tabs you have and you can click on the X to close any applications EXCEPT LEAGUE. So every time this happens, I'm forced to shut down my computer. Putting it to sleep and waking up won't work. the moment I log in my windows account, the loading screen pops up and I still can't quit it.

At least I can use the shortcut Win+X and restart my computer this way instead of holding the power button. What will you do with all these "LEAVER" ? I never Afk'd in my life, unless it was a power outage or something like that. Now I feel like I'm risking my honor level 5 and the end of season rewards every time I queue up. Just happened to me today. Loaded to 100% stayed for 5 minutes. Alt tabbed showed my start menu, tried right clicking and ending,program on league, screen won't go away. Open task manager. It starts but i cant open the window. Cant do anything. Waited 20 minutes. Nothing. Restarted pc and,now im typing this. This,isn't the first time,either rito plz fix. Costing,me too many losses.

Happened to me again, first time I started playing rank after a few months of taking a break, I queue up with my duo partner and as soon as I got into the loading screen, the bug occurred. This Only Happens when I am playing rank with someone, I have a decent laptop to run league, and my internet is decent enough. so I don't know the problem, It always happen in rank if Im duo with someone, the only time it happens

Happened twice in the same game, first stuck at 94%, then stuck at 4% but it moved up to 6% after a couple minutes.

I’m very irritated with this bug, because it only started this passed week, 2-3-2020, and has been going on for days. It wasn’t doing this before, and I’ve been trying all the fixes everyone has been saying. It is becoming an issue even more so because by the time I get in I’m under leveled, and have some ticked off teammates. This needs to be fixed point blank period.

Sometimes my loading screen hits 100%, but the game doesn't start. If I close the loading window and restart loading quickly, I can get into game at about 6:00 or 7:00. I'd expect my team to remake by then, but allegedly, my team never got a remake option. If I just wait on the loading screen, it will sit at 100% forever until I decide to close it, whereupon I'll be looking at the end-game LEAVER screen.

I am playing on a low-end Windows 8 PC, with minimum settings on everything, even music turned off.

Well, it happened to me because I had my Ethernet Cable plugged in??? That makes no sense, but apparently that's the case for me. I do use a Mac Book Pro which isn't the best computer for gaming admittedly, but around 3 months ago everything was completely fine, I can still run League pretty well, but recently I realized when I connect the cable, I either have a chance of not getting consistent lag spikes, or not connecting to the game at all.. Please let me know if anyone experiences a similar problem..

mine froze for a long time at like 89% and then when I restarted the game was remade. Do not have low end pc I load in under 90 seconds

Someone noted this only happened to them in Ranked. So, to eliminate possible causes, does anyone have experience with this issue in a non-Ranked game loading screen?

Just had this happen back to back in my Promos and its already a bitch to climb back up this season as it currently stands and as a support main i find it even harder when i crash and now im out a series and down 45LP to boot and thats not just one game back up thats like 3 and its rough. please fix your game i love this game but that new patch hurt more than it helped

EDIT : I'm playing on a recent Laptop, Acer Aspire V17 with 16GB of ram. It would surprise me if I run out of memory just by playing League of Legends.

(Insert Old And Tired Mac Gaming Joke Here)

Playing on a Mac (OS X El Capitan. 10.11.6). After this latest patch, my loading screen takes 6-10 minutes longer than everyone else. I get hung up at %48, %96, %98, %100, and do not load into the game, despite the game starting. When I do finally load in, It says I have disconnected and are "attempting to reconnect". When the game has concluded, I do not receive rewards due to "afk behavior".

Just as a side note...when the new loading screen was first launched, my load times went noticeably down. Then every patch since then, they have gotten worse and worse.

This has happened every time I have tried to play a match. Both ARAM and SR.

Moved to Mojave 10.14.4. Same issues

I've literally never had this happen until the most recent patch.

This just happened to me last game. A warwick was stuck at 100% in the loading screen and it took him 15 minutes to reconnect to the game. I was waiting for the surrender vote, and it said "we have 30 seconds to surrender..etc" the message popped up, but there was nothing for me to click. He did reconnect, but again it was really late when they were already lvl 8-9. This really pissed me off because even though i'm playing in low Diamond a game is game and I don't want to lose it because of some bug, that's ridiculous.
