[GAMEPLAY] Taliyah's W silences her during the cast animation.

Problem: Once her W is activated, you can not activate any other spells (regular spells. i haven't tested summoners) until the knock-up/Knock-back is completed. This is extremely frustrating, especially when trying for a quick combo (W/E instead of E/W) and makes her play-style very clunky.

I want to be clear that her W is not a channel, you can move around while it is in its animation, therefore there is no reason why you shouldn't be able use abilities during its animation.

Reproduce: To reproduce this bug, use W (on smartcast for speed) then spam any of her other 3 spells, you will see that they can not be activated until the W knock up is complete.

Plea: Please fix this, as it means that when you cast W, you pretty much cannot participate in the battle until it is complete (and by then its too late to cast E and get your combo)

A Riot response would be nice, just to know if this is actually a bug, Thanks :)

Unfortunately, this is not a bug this ability is functioning as intended. The designers wanted to allow as much time as possible for her to use the knockback and so have her silenced until the entire cast animation is finished, arguing that giving her the ability to finish the casting quickly would force good players into doing that consistently and thus feel rushed. It still seems like dumb reasoning imo, but there it is :/.

This is completely intentional, I think it was mostly to make sure she is using her combos the way they were meant to, the silence/channel keeps players from activating her knockup/back, throwing down her e and then inputting a direction. That sort of combo would be a lot less telegraphed and harder to avoid. It may seem clunky to players now, but after a little practice it feels natural to her. Also people need to keep in mind the thematic side of her kit's design, she is essentially an earth bender, that sort of ability should seem a little choppy, slightly slower and delayed abilities with huge utility and payoff when they're used successfully

I can confirm, this is indeed happening, very frustrating!

It's not a bug. It's intentional.

Maybe it's just me, but I actually really enjoy it. Once you get used to it, it's super handy. It's a huge turn off at first, but stick with it and it'll pay off.

That's why she feels so clunky to me!

edit: I know it's not a bug. That doesn't change that it makes the kit clunky to me.

This is fully intentional! It feels a bit long, yes, but works as intended.

Intentional but really bad and it feels so awkward to play. You literally sit there and wait and A) If it doesn't land you are at a disadvantage in every situation because of the 'silence', B) If it does land the benefit isn't even consistently rewarding enough to make this function as an intended weakness. If it did more damage on hit then I could see the argument for this
