Unexpected error with the login session?

Every time I load up the launcher, it runs smoothly until it gets to the main home screen except everything's black and the text box shows up " There was an unexpected error with the login session. Please try again." It has been doing that for hours*[slayer-jinx-unamused]* I FOUND THE FIX!!! WHEN YOU GET TO THAT ERROR, CLICK ON THE X AT THE TOP AND CLICK SIGN OUT THEN RE-ENTER THE GAME :D IT JUST WORKED FOR ME![leblanc-funny]

If you don't click the X before the message pops up, goto your taskbar and right click your league of legends icon. Click the close window button and a pop up asking if you want to exit or sign out will appear. Sign out and then relog in.

This worked for me, but OP's timing is incorrect. He says,

WHEN YOU GET TO THAT ERROR, CLICK ON THE X AT THE TOP

But you actually have to click the X before the error message pops up, otherwise the X becomes unclickable. So start the client and as soon as the screen goes black and the X appears in the top right, click it and sign out.

And then never use auto sign-in again because it's clearly broken.

for what fukin reason riot changes the client when the new one is full of bugs that dont let me get in the game? Is it that hard to do a minor change like that and they fuked up everything? What kind of developers work in this company ffs?

i was able to sign out and then log in again, but the client was still all black, and nothing worked and after a while the " There was an unexpected error with the login session. Please try again." notification would just show up again, plz halp

I found another way. Basically, go to this Folder: C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config. Then, delete League Client Setting. It will reset everything.

easy for you to say, I had mine to auto login. When the error comes up i press okay, the client then closes.

Have this problem for 3 days. None of the fixes work for me. Even deleted and reinstalled the game, the same issue persists. Anything new on this topic?

i can see how it would work but for some reaosn when i click exit it doesnt give me the "sign out" option, only the exit one :\

Having this same issue. Also installed the hextech tool with no help from it. Uninstalled and am trying to re-install however at 2% the error continue to pops up. I was in a ranked game. I want my LP back RIOT!

Greetings. I too was facing the same problem until I fortunately came upon an encounter that helped me solve this issue. I shall describe below the steps that I used.

Step 1: Type "Run" in your search bar. Step 2: Open Run. Step 3: Type in "services.msc". Step 4: Find "Killer Network Service". Step 5: Go to "Killer Network Service"'s properties. Step 6: Disable "Killer Network Service". Step 7: Apply the changes. Step 8: Restart PC.

I was about to win a blind 5v5 and was disconnected*[zombie-brand-mindblown]* , when I tried to reconnect this error popped up and this isn't working, if I click the x before the error the options are yes or no and not close app or sign out I'm hoping this will go away, I tried signing in on another computer to no avail*[slayer-jinx-unamused]*

Hey guys I FOUND IT, for everyone out there that had the client made ticked on auto login, i found the way to disable that option

Go to your LOL folder directory then Config and open a file called "LeagueClientSettings.yaml" using notebad, and search for that line: login-remember-me: rememberMe: true

replace the word true with false, save the file and reopen the client, it should sign you out also if you ever sign in again you'll notice the client tries to log you in on its own still but this time when you click the "x" button like mentioned above, it will give you the "sign out" option

Also i gotta mention, couple days ago i got an email from riot that i should change my login username after the changes that has been made to the client, if you received that email as well and did change the name like i did, you'll notice in the same file i mentioned above "LeagueClientSettings.yaml" a section for your username like this: username: "your login user name"

you'll probably notice that your old username is still written there, change it with the new one and save the file, that should fix all of your problems guys.

I've tried the sign-out before pop up fix I've tried opening LeagueClientSettings.yaml I've tried deleting LeagueClientSettings.yaml I've tried reinstalling the game I've tried downloading the hextech tool to diagnose the problem I've tried reinstalling through the hextech tool

Should I try a clean reinstall? (Option on hextech tool that states is not recommended)

I'm quite frustrated dealing with this

4 months later, this issue continues. this client is a never ending problems. but hey lets make a new broken ass overloaded new shit champion or lets make another Akali and/or Lux skin.

this company doesn't give a fuck anymore.
