Cant patch League and as a result I cant play

So today, I try to launch league for the first time since last night when I had no issues. Now, after I get to the landing of the launch pad where I should be entering my password, I get these two pop ups and I cant play. Keeps bringing me in a loop and I cant get past this.

There was a problem patching League of Legends. We'll restore a backup version and try updating again after you restart the patcher. [RESTART]

We have restored this installation to an older version of League of Legends. Now we'll try to patch it up to the latest version. [OKAY]

Once I click Restart then the next window pops up. Then i click Okay and then nothing happens and It brings me back to the first message about having a problem patching..

Well... following a similar thread reported earlier.. I decided to try to restart my computer and try it again. Its actually patching now so I guess that worked! I will be back here if it didnt. For anyone experiencing the above, try restarting your computer.
