[CRASH] Client failed upon selecting Launch Legacy Client.

As described in the title, the League Client stopped working as normal upon selecting the option to launch the legacy client and the PVP.net Kernel error message displayed. No circumstances outside the normal were present.

Right click the Launcher, select "Run as administrator" or
Go to your League of Legends folder, typically located in (C: > Riot Games > League of Legends) click "lol.launcher.admin".
