PVP.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working

I did some updates for my PC yesterday. It was just my software and Java. Now I can't open League of Legends! Is anyone else having this issue? I am a computer science major so you can use computer terms and get advanced if it will solve it.

I just started having the same problem today too, I don't know why, every time I open league it just says PVP.net patcher kernel has stopped working and nothing happens. Maybe windows installed new updates which caused this. I also need a fix.
