Stuck at 30 FPS when computer is unplugged.

Well I know there are numerous threads about this issue but I couldn't find any solution so far, thus here I am requiring your help.

I've had a new laptop since yesterday, and I found out that when it's unplugged, on battery, LoL (and other games I guess) was stuck at 30 FPS. The problem is: this is a not removable battery (I didn't even know that existed)... and I'm afraid that if I let it plugged while I'm playing, the computer will overheat.

Nvidia GTX 950M, FYI. And yes I tried to tweak some settings... Nothing worked.

"New laptop since yesterday" Battery and charging technology has come a long way, and I guarantee you, if it's a newer laptop, there should be no risk of it overheating due to being plugged in. Overuse is a different story. You shouldn't worry about it overheating while being plugged in, though you should still occasionally check if you use it a lot, and are seriously worried.

As for the FPS, I'm not sure why that would happen. The only thing I could think of is something internally limits it when it's unplugged to conserve power.

This sounds like a hardware/setting issue if it happens across all games. Many laptops go into a power saving mode when not plugged in to increase battery life by throttling your GPU/CPU. I would look for a setting like that (try googling your laptop and see what comes up). If nothing else, you can resort to just keeping it plugged in while gaming.
