[Bug] Very Strange Video/Entire Program Failure

I'll start off with my system:

Late '13 Macbook Pro with the retina display, but I cracked my screen so I play on a 32" JVC TV via an HDMI cable that I play in windowed mode.

I wish there was a screenshot I could have taken that could record an audio clip but that's impossible so I'll do my best to describe what happened.

In game, the most recent match in my match history and we're fighting on our nexus and my screen flashed grey, my safari opened and closed a few times and the League client and the Game disappeared but I could still hear the game sounds through my TV.

I'm not sure what Macs have that's equivalent of drivers if any at all, but it's like the video driver for the game completely crashed and disappeared.

I even tried to press Command+Alt/option+Esc so I could force close League and reopen it but it didn't even show up there either.

I could still hear game sounds at this point, Tried to alt tab to maybe see if I could reshow the window that way but also a no go with that as well.

I then used my spotlight to find league again and when I tried to start it it prompted that there was already a copy of league running and the League of legends logo showed up on my desktop and did nothing but hang there.

I did a hard restart hoping I could rejoin the game but it was already over at that point and I was surprised to see that I didn't have at least a 5 minute banned from requeing ranked.
