Champ select issues and the free bitter penalties that I keep swallowing dry
I'm making a thread because I am sick and tired of the automated responses in my support tickets always shifting the blame on my pc and my connection.
I am always playing on a wired connection, for future reference. Every couple of games or so there is some champ select bug, several in fact, regardless of the queue mode. It hurts more when it's ranked, both flex and solo, but it happens in norms and aram, too:
- Sometimes everyone would be kicked from the lobby for no reason, and they are shown leaving the lobby, I know that because it looks and sounds different from someone dodging in champ select.
- One time I couldn't accept the queue, the button instantly disappeared before I could click it, saying I declined. My spouse got that same bug that very same day, hours later. Whenever I have issues, he is in game with no hitch. Whenever he has issues, I am in game with no hitch. It doesn't feel like a lag problem, just a bug with the lobbies.
- This one time I couldn't connect to the lobby, Champ select kept saying 'Connecting...' - I quickly made a ticket asking for loss prevention (again, my inet looked fine, I mean I can open web pages just fine and write a support ticket at the same time the lobby was unresponsive, so I didn't know if lobby bug or server side issue), thankfully it fixed itself just in time so I didn't get penalized
- Sometimes (not in aram ofc) the counter stops at 0, but not for me. For other players way before me. And it stays there until it kicks, again, everyone out of the lobby, saying I did not lock in a champ. If I was the one supposedly lagging out, why was I the last one in that lobby to witness everyone else being kicked before me? The counter did not even stop at me, but several stages of pick way before me.
- Sometimes the chat stops working but the counters keep going, and I will still be kicked out for no reason. I am listening to internet radio and I can clearly see my connection is still going, no hickups. This is truly a buggy client that keeps hitting me with penalties when my/our connection is clearly up and running.
Now one of the times I submitted the ticket, it was indeed a srv issue on their side as they stopped the ranked queue for a few hours, as they do from time to time due to various issues. So that's also 1 more thing to add to that list, it's just that it's not a champ select bug, but indeed a connection issue. On their side. That I still pay for. Just for daring to queue up for solo.
Alongside champ select bugs, I have also reported loading screen bugs, freezes and lack of a reconnect button despite numerous client and pc restarts. Besides aram leaver busters, one time a full ranked game leaver penalty incurred, not a mere dodging penalty, mind you. Thanks :) I will never forget that.
I am not saying my connection is ALWAYS perfectly working, I do get interruptions from time to time, outside league or during league, but it hasn't happened ONCE during champ select. For those few times during idk 3 years of playing, it was always during a game, never champ select, and took my penalty responsibly. All these issues listed above are happening v often within this new client as of the previous couple of months. You need to shift the blame from me and finally look into these issues that I keep mentioning, in tickets, countless bug reports, and threads.
