Couldn't mute item pings?

So, is there not currently a way to mute item pings? Or have i found a glitch? Was just in a RANKED game with a horrendous teemo who would. not. stop. pinging. Hunter's Machete filled the chat to the point we could barely see anything someone else would ping. Every few seconds it was hunter's machete x10. I muted everything on Teemo that I could, but the hunter's machete ping wouldn't stop. Why wouldn't it mute?

I'm pretty sure anyone can ping anyone else's items, so maybe try muting other people next time. IIRC you can even ping enemy items.

It's a bug. I experienced it a couple days ago. Where my items would link them selves over and over again.

Kind of hard to link items mid team fight, or while typing at the same time.

Only happened once though, haven't yet seen it again. A Rioter even responded to me and gave me a list to try.
