Win match, lose LP, are we really trying to de-incentivize ranked this much?

So, I am playing a ranked game, and there is a power outage, I d/c. Power comes back almost immediately, and I get back in, only slightly behind, we were winning at this point. Then, for whatever reason, my breakers flip, probably a surge on the grid as everyone comes back or just in my house, w/e. I run and reset my breakers, this rejoin takes a little longer but my team is holding on and encourages me to farm back up. We end up winning the game, and I LOSE LP. What is the point of this? Why would I ever bother to relog if I had a tech issue if regards of outcome I lose LP?

That's messed up man. You should not lose LP unless you stayed AFK and your team reported you. You probably should not play ranked when it is storming though because of the chance of this happening

I don't, I avoided it all day yesterday when it was actively storming, I don't know why I had outages today. Maybe they were doing cleanup and hit a line or whatever.

Guessing you lose LP because there are plenty of situations where that happening will cause your team to lose the game. It would be nice to have some sort of timer where being gone for 1-5 minutes -10lp, being gone 5-10 minutes lose -20 lp or something. That way folks coming back don't get hurt as bad as the ones who don't..

If you return to the game after a couple of minutes (maybe 3-4 tops) post DCing and continue helping out your team, securing kills and objectives, and helping to win the game, you should gain pretty much full LP.

If you're gone for like 5-7 mins okaaaay maybe give a pittance of like 5 LP at most since it did cripple the fuck out of your teams chances, but nbd you still got it. If you manually leave the game (alt+F4 or closing the game other ways) then sure, remove all possible LP gain even on wins, and retain loss on loses. Hell, maybe still lose lp on wins if you actually quit the game yourself once or twice. I do realize this might make issues for people with old PCs who sometimes relog to fix their internet, but idk how to deal with those kinda things

Thusly, people can't just exit the game, relog after 5 mins, still get LP, rinse and repeat. But people who do get a quick power blackout or an error and crash can still return and win the game and not be penalized so bad, and people who get short 20 sec connection drops wont be penalized either

if you lose lp either way people will just leave play another game until they can play another ranked game to try to win that back. If you think people will try to come back to lose slightly less lp you obviously havent been playing with this community that have been surrendering when getting even slightly behind these past 3 years and im totes jealous.
