Nexus Blitz Jungle Smite Problem

So yesterday I played Nexus Blitz (which by the way is really fun), and I was Hecarim in the jungle. Unfortunately, after completing my jungle item, by Smite never evolved to Chilling Smite and I was stuck with regular smite for the entire game.
