RIOT Remove chat restriction punishments or make them fair and working properly.

[I can't prove anything here but I have no reason too.)

I got chat restricted 4 months ago, I got it again today. My first one was for asking to report someone who was walking down mid and feeding. Now, I get chat restricted for telling a Chinese troll, to go back to his own region. I'm not saying I shouldnt be chat restricted but im saying these punishments are terrible. Before my first ban I was honor 4 and probably about to be honor 5 then i got banned for asking people to report (i report everyone who ask for reports ever since my banned and those people arent being banned, riot told me, that people who ask for reports are always punished)

I got honor 1, 3 months ago and I was 2/3 checkpoints to honor 2, now im reset back to honor 0. You shouldn't lose your honor unless you are saying shit every match and being toxic as hell. For the last 4 months, I have probably been nice 95% of the time, That is out of a shit ton of matches. It's just crazy that I have to go through another 4 months before im even close to honor 2, I might as well just being a toxic player because I see toxic people almost every game have honor 3/4/5s and they dont seem to be punished. Either fix the punishments or dont give them out at all.

Basically what I am saying is that this system is trash and I see tons of toxic people being toxic, I report them and get no messages of their ban, I can't be 100% nice person all the time in such a toxic community like this. I get a chat restriction after having one 4 months ago for asking for a report and its stupid.

If Riot post what I said in chat, make sure you (riot) post what the troll was saying so it has context.

tldr; people i who get punished EXTREMELY RARELY did not deserve it. The cases that I saw that they did not.... Riot revised their entire system. Yeah definitely not a fair company.

No, it's called being realistic. People always come here saying "I was unfairly punished" and they put their logs up. Then it's just horrible stuff and they deserved it. THen there are people like you who don't post their logs, and are like "Just BELIEVE ME"... However, we just examine their diction and it's like "Ok, believable that you were toxic.". This can be EASILY cleared up with us if you post your logs. Otherwise, we owe you no sympathy or belief. It's not our failing. It's just reality.

Did you even read? I said " I'm not saying I shouldnt be chat restricted but im saying these punishments are terrible." I never said I shouldnt be chat restricted im saying the punishments are terrible and should only be used on people who are actually being toxic and ruining the community. I have no motivation to play the game at all now, I just played my first chat restricted maps and people were being toxic af. Riot sucks at clearing the community of the actually toxic people. The chat logs looked bad because you can't see what the troll is typing to everyone on the team and I have no proof to show what he was saying to everybody so im not posting 20% of the chat logs because without the other 80% from my other teammates, there is no way to prove anything.

No, I read everything. It just was not convincing. You say that you weren't saying you shouldn't be chat restricted. However you also claim you want the punishments to be better because they're not punishing the horrible toxicity. That hints that you think that you weren't toxic. You say that Riot is doing a bad job at clearing toxicity, but you yourself (a toxic person which is backed up by you being punished since false punishments are so trivially rare) is like "I do not want to play anymore". That means one more toxic person. There's just a lot of toxic people on the internet. It's everywhere. It's a cultural problem. It doesn't mean Riot sucks at it. Personally, I very very rarely meet toxicity.

Again, everyone who is like 'UNFAIR' thinks that the context matters. It. Does. Not. If you are toxic to someone, it doesn't matter who started. You were toxic. You were punished. That is enough. Get your logs.

You are typing a bunch of pointless shit because you arent reading what im typing. I told you multiple times, that I was only being rude to the troll, in that one match because he ruined our game and was being toxic to everyone. Big difference between being toxic and being rude one match, toxic people do it every single match.

Because it basically never happens. I’ve seen it I think once, and it was more of a case of misunderstanding (the player was telling some to execute in an ARAM, except they used “kys” which is on the list of zero tolerance phrases) then an actual false punishment.

It doesn't matter your context. If someone calls you a racial slur, you are not then enabled to call them one back free of consequence. That's just not it works since you can just troll people and bait them so you can be as toxic as possible.

I never said anything racist, I told them to post the other guy shit, so you can see how much he was being toxic and spamming in chat and trashtalking teammembers and he was not punished and I reported him.

The thing is that the ! button isn't a personal "This person is banned button". People aren't punished for one bad game of mild to moderate toxicity. You can be for one bad game of extreme toxicity. Everyone who complains here about that on this board just wants to be judge, juror, and executioner. You're not. Expecting that 'Omg they should be punish! I should be shipped their head!' just isn't realistic.

There are quite a few reasons, but here's a couple.

  1. Only one person gets that popup, and it's the last person. If 4 people report in a game that results in a ban, only one of them gets the popup. They could be punished, and you have no evidence or data to backup a claim that they are not punished.
  2. This could be their first game or second game.

If you were chat banned in one match, how extreme was your toxicity? Logs?
If you're not going to present logs, then everyone is going to have to come to one of two conclusions

  1. You were extremely toxic and deserved Riot's one game ban policy.

Jesus, people like you have issues. you think so much into the littliest things, im not posting the logs until Riot sends me the whole logs, of the guy was who was being toxic to the whole team. We were mocking him in the match and just saying things back to him. If I post the logs of just me, its going to be taking out of context. You think so highly of Riot, I've seen tons of chat bans are stupid and people like you always try to dismiss them. Just get off my post with your spam, Riot just needs to fix their trash chat ban punishments and just because you can't read, im not saying I dont deserve the chat ban but the punishments are stupid for someone who isnt toxic.

I don't actually have issues. It's just basic life skill analytics that you should bring to the table regularly.

Also you just admitted that you OPENLY MOCKED A PLAYER. That is toxic. It doesn't matter if you felt it was toxic. Riot clearly feels that no one DESERVES that toxicity. Saying "Ok players, your value system for what and what does not deserve toxicity is open". No, it's simpler to just not tolerate it. Riot gets to draw the line in that case which makes the most sense and is the easiest implementation.

I say you are spamming because you arent reading what im saying, I said i was being rude that match but im not a toxic player. I dont deserve to be punished for one match and there wasnt any other match, recently Ive been winning all my matches, I get a troll who is throwing and I spamming chat with toxic shit, so I say stuff back to him. AGAIN, IM NOT SAYING I WASNT BEING RUDE THAT MATCH. I just don't deserve this harsh of a punishment for one match, where my honor gets reset to 0 when its impossible to get back to honor 3 under 5 months, its just not fair.

IF you were not given logs, please contact Riot Support to give them. You are supposed to receive them for your ban. Banning you with no reason why you were banned is not helpful. They want people to not be toxic. Thus, showing you the logs of why you were is helpful in you turning your bad attitude around from where it is.

They show you logs but they dont show you the whole game log, which makes a lot of shit out of context and even if you are messing around, it comes off wrong because you cant see what is said before it.

True story, I passed season 7 at like tier 3 or 4 honor, and I just did myself the whole time, minor salt but mostly just passive and never using chat.

There are always people who beat the system. They aren't horrible, im just not going to through all the work to message Riot, to get the chat logs since I know it will bring nothing. It's not being immature, being immature is having your name "MagicFlyingLlama". All I did was tell the guy to go back to his region, if all he was going to do is troll and that im better than him since he was you suck and was telling my teammates they suck and was flat out being toxic.   1. It doesn't matter what someone else does since 2 wrongs don't make a right and you admitted you deserved the ban.

  2. Riot's punishments are fair and the loss of honor etc is a known punishment for being toxic. IT's their as a deterrent so you won't be toxic. They tried just chat restrictions that didn't work so they escalated it.

  3. It doesn't matter how many reports per game are sent in, it still only counts as 1 reported game. The system isn't going to nail you for 1 game unless your chat is filled with horrible stuff or you're feeding.

  4. The fact you've been punished before means you're on Riots radar then and you had better behave.

  5. Asking for someone else's chat logs is never going to happen and is a bad excuse to not post your own since you know you won't get them. That would violate their account privacy.

  6. You're asking us to trust you and say believe you all the while trying to deflect blame onto someone else who may or may not have done what you said. You're also sitting here insulting those responding to you. For someone who's so innocent you sure do want to blame everyone else for what happened.

Since S1 we've seen countless trolls, racists, flamers etc come to these forums all doing the exact same thing as you are doing. They've all been guilty as sin. The old Tribunal Ban Inquiries forum is littered with posts just like yours. No one here is going to believe you or trust you after what you've posted and we're in no way haters. We've just learned to know better. when we see these types of posts.

Lastly, we also aren't worried about getting banned falsely since while most of us have our moments we know to keep ourselves in check. We don't want to become a negative statistic. If you really need to rebind your chat key to something hard to reach so once game starts you can only use the smart ping system.

I was punished 4 months ago for asking for a report on a troll. I've ton nothing wrong since, and i gained no honor, I was honor 1 and 2 / 3 checkpoints from making it to honor 2, You have no motovation to not be a troll/toxic/etc... after you get punished once because it takes too much time, to get honor 2. It takes 6 or more months to go from being honor 0 to get honor 2, which is unacceptable.

Im assuming this because I was honor 0, took me about 15 - 20 days, to get honor 1, 2 months into my ban, I got check point one, just last week, i got checkpoint 2. It's stupid, the system is bad. You can get banned for something so little, even if your not a toxic player and be punished for so long. Im not insulting those who respond to me, im not going to treat people with respect who clearly think little of me. I wont say anything snarky or rude to you because you actually responded in a nice way, not straight attacking me and trying belittle my words.

Trust me, you will be muted unfairly one day, Imma support main, Ive been playing since 2012, at first was toxic and trolly then again I was 12. I have been nothing but kind in matches to people, only time im not kind is when someone is trolling. That is why this game needs to the tribunal system back so people can review the situation and the game. So, real league players can see how this person was treating the whole team and how he was feeding on purpose. I also not posting any logs until Riot sends me the trolls logs as well.

I'm a support main as well and I do understand the hate that supports get all too well. More than likely your issue wasn't the 1 game that triggered your punishment but several since when you get a reform card it almost always has the most recent game that was used to punish you in it. What you can do is ask support nicely mind you for all the reform cards that were part of your most recent punishment.

Perhaps there's something you don't remember and this might help jog your memory of what happened. Just remember it doesn't matter what that troll does since oftentimes they want you to respond. If you cross a certain line(s) you're going to get punished. That troll almost always gets punished as well, either sooner or later yet you sadly don't get to see the satisfaction of them getting nailed.

That is unless they come here and post about it and say they were unfairly punished whereas you said you deserve the punishment just not the severity. What usually happens is they inflame the forum until a Rioters comes in and posts the reason they got punished. They turn around and change their tune and say what they did was ok racism, death threats, rape, cancer on family, murder etc.

You've at least made progress in realizing you made mistakes and deserved the punishment and are coming to grips with how hard it's going to be to get back what you lost. However since you've realized you were wrong it'll make it easier going forward hopefully to change your behavior and not respond to trolls or someone just having that bad day we all have.

Like I said rebind your chat key and don't say you're on a chat restriction, just say in champ select you don't talk much and instead like to use smart pings. If someone starts flaming you ignore them or mute them but don't say it in chat. simply go about your own business and play your role. You can also earn all that honor back by playing more games but remembering to take plenty of breaks, especially if you get on a losing streak or are getting frustrated.

Do what I do and curse at your monitor, although avoid hitting your desk as that gets painful and breaking mouse/keyboard gets expensive. Just keep your head down to the grindstone so to speak and don't respond and you'll be back up there before season is over.

This Board is for serious reports of in game bugs, not for discussing the chat restriction and honor systems.
