Can't Make New Friends

All friend requests return an internal server error. I'd really like to make new friends and enjoy the game, further incentivizing me to add to my countless dollars spent. It's not that people don't like me, it's that the client doesn't like its players. I better see this client working like it's supposed to before I see one more damn skin... which I will then buy...
