Illaoi's Ultimate Not Spawning Tentacles Correctly

I know is a champ many people have mixed opinions about regarding her overall viability. However, when it comes to her ultimate in particular, I swear the skill is BUGGED. Aside from not feeling satisfying at times, I think the ultimate comes off as inconsistent. Sometimes, I think the ultimate actually doesn't do its base damage. And other times, I think the ult forgets to spawn the tentacles.

I don't claim to be a god player, but man... There are so many situations where I know I hit some enemy champs with the ult, and then it seems like nothing happens.

There are just way too many situations where I am ulting ON TOP of many champs clumped together, and sometimes the tentacles either don't spawn or it feels like I am missing a tentacle or two I should have received. I would even go as far as saying that this ultimate is one of the most unreliable ults in the game because of it.

Either the AoE for the skill needs to be bigger (even just an AoE range indicator as you are ulting to show you who you are actually catching in your ult would be nice) or this skill needs some coding love. Something doesn't feel right about it.
