Not sure if this is intended, but Galio's W - Bulwark does not apply the heal from Athene's Unholy Grail. I get that Bulwark is technically not a "shield" but given that the item is and has always been a staple to his build, plus his playstyle is very supportive, Athene's should have more synergy with Galio.
This is intended. As you mentioned, Bulwark is not technically a shield, it is a buff given to an ally, so it will not work with Athene's. It is unlikely that Riot will make this change just for Galio.
Unfortunately, Bulwark is just a buff, not a shield. :'(
I made a post of this a while back and got my hopes destroyed.
I do hope that Rito makes this change, though, as Chalice used to be such a huge deal for Galio; his Bulwark is also nice for supportive purposes, but it just leaves a lot to be desired for the big guy.
