Thresh hooks going through minions to many times to not get fixed!

I have noticed a lot of people picking Thresh in ranked games. Every time I go against a Thresh for some reason his hooks go through minions. Did I miss something in the patch notes? Is this supposed to happen, because it never happens when I play Thresh.

Be really helpful if you could provide a video. Otherwise, I'm just going to assume he's threading the needle and going between them.

I personally have seen good threshes throw it between two minions that I thought for sure it should have hit. the hitbox isn't actually as big as people think...
