It's more of the actions are input at the same time and he "gets" to move first. It's a server based shitholeish thing. Riot's MO for everything that would break if it doesn't have a good seed in the priority lookup table. Back in Season 1 Yi was removed from professional play because people could spam q as much as they wanted and the game was forced to do it under any circumstance. They fixed the stunning/snaring part but left the priority part so that they wouldn't have to rework it again. Each time they revisit his kit they are forced to leave that crappy piece of code alone so he will never have a good q that's not just a bunch of frontload damage unless they completely rework him which they are loathe to do. Even coders in India are pricey nowadays.

What do you mean? His Q is just like any other ability, there is no such thing as "priority" in League. It's whoever uses something first, unless an ability specifically can be used through CC like Tryndamere's Ult.

Yi's Q has a cast animation, then he goes untargetable, then he appears and does damage. There's nothing special about it.

So again, what were the circumstances of "I q, yi q's"?
