If you smite Krugs over a wall they will follow you all the way around.

I've been playing udyr recently and one of my fav things to do when red is bot lane is to start red, smite krug over wall, then clear red. But recently if i get a leash for help w/ red and i smite krugs over the wall they will follow all the way around and start attacking my adc and supp who are leashing. they lose unnecessary health before they can even get back to lane. Is this intentional or not?
