I cannot stay connected to a match since the latest "update"

I'm constantly lagging out for no reason since the "privacy policy" update. I'm really unsure what's going on because this hasn't happened before. I've checked the connection I have - it is a wifi connection since it's all I can get - and everything appears fine. I've been spamming ARAM and the past few days during a match I'll play stably for roughly 5 minutes before everything goes to shit and I lose connection constantly and have to leave. It lags my computer out to where I can't hardly use it till either the match ends or I somehow make league's client go away. Help me ;-;
