Having To Lock In?!?!

So I thought this update was really cool except for 1 thing... why the hell do you have to lock in even when you have your champion picked out? I have gotten removed from queue 4 times so far. What is the point of having to lock in when the time runs out and you already have a champion picked out. I'm sure I'll get used to it one day but right now it seems pointless to have. Also when I'm not looking at the league client it wont pop up when its my turn to lock in. This is crazy
