Kalista... bug?
This thread is identical to one I have posted in GD apart from this intro bit. I am reposting it here in hopes of a red seeing it. I really don't give a fuck if it's against the rules to do so, as the boards can go screw themselves for all I care. However, I care more about fixing this stupid bug than hating the boards. Anyway....
Firstly... let's get this straight. I despise Kalista. I outright do not like her, in any way. The only champion I dislike more than Kalista is Renekton, but I won't go into that. So I'm PROBABLY a bit biased. However, this is still annoying bug. If it's intentional, it needs to be fixed.
From the champion reveal:
"The Black Spear Active: Kalista offers a pact to an allied champion, should they agree, the item is consumed and the pair are Soul-Bound for the remainder of the game. When accepted, the binding enables Soul-Marked, a passive on Sentinel, and allows Kalista to use Fate’s Call when she unlocks it."
There's one key phrase here that I can't quite figure out. "should they agree"
I've never been given the option to agree. Sure, when you hover over the spear it changes the cursor to a click-on option, kinda like when Azir hovers over a destroyed turret, but neither you nor anyone else can click on it. And no matter what I do, it forces me to accept the pact, and be subject to the unbelievably annoying Fate's Call.
For those who don't know, Fate's Call is Kalista's ultimate. I'm not sure of the numbers on it, or indeed if it does any damage at all, because I haven't played Kalista. However, I happen to be a support main, and let me say that I despise this ultimate more than any one in the game. In fact, I think I'd rather be ulted by an enemy Warwick than an allied Kalista.
Fate's Call immobilizes the champion Kalista uses it on, drags them to her, then allows them to launch themselves into the enemy team and (I think) knock them up (and do damage...?). There are five major problems with this.

It happens without warning, and doesn't bother to have any forgiveness for people who are spamming clicks. I don't know how most people play, but I control my champion with rapid clicks right by them, in order to maintain absolute control of my movements. When Kalista ults me, more often than not I waste it by simply firing off right next to her.

It locks your camera and drags you in towards Kalista. This is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING, and is more disorienting than enemy CC. No Kalista ever bothers to tell me they're going to ult, so it always comes as a complete surprise when my camera is locked and I am randomly thrown in a direction based on where I was trying to move. This nearly always gets me killed. If I DO manage to realize what's happening...

I play mostly squishy supports, including Soraka, Sona, and Nami. I REALLY DON'T WANT to be chucked headfirst into the enemy team. I'm not Alistair! Of course, in blind pick and Yolo Queue, nobody bothers to listen or synergize. I suppose maybe it could work with Sona, as a Fate's Call into Crescendo could be devastating, but like I said the chances of me even getting to use Fate's Call properly are low at best. Either way, when I'm squishier than a jello sandwich, I do NOT WANT TO BE THROWN INTO THE ENEMY TEAM LIKE A MISSILE.

Most Kalistas don't know how or when to use their ultimate. On top of everything else, this often gets me killed, turning her misplay into death for both of us.

I thought Riot didn't like abilities that could be trolled with. Well this is one that definitely can. I just had a game where an allied Kalista was getting bitchy for whatever reason and was mad at me. I flashed over a wall in an attempt to escape, and just to be a bitch she dragged me back with Fate's Call and, as usual, I misfired in confusion and was slaughtered. This ultimate is perfect for trolling. In games where I've refused to go near a Kalista that bonded me after I asked them not to, I've had them do stupid stuff such as flash to interrupt my recall, ult me right as they die so that I die too, and much more.
Regardless of her ultimate, however, if I don't want a bond with this incredibly annoying champion, I think I'm entitled to reject her, especially as the game seems to think I'm allowed to. I tell every Kalista to not bond me, but because this is the internet, people don't bother to listen.
If this is a bug, please fix it. If this is Working As Intended, it is a terrible system and needs to be revamped.
PLEASE. FIX THIS.
