Chat bug with PvP.net client (pre-game client)

This has been an on-going problem for more than a year now, where if you are on LoL for an extended period or sometimes even after 1 game the chat in pre-game lobbies and champ select becomes invisible to you. Just now I was in a ranked lobby where I was first pick and I couldnt communicate with my team because of this dumb bug that hasn't been fixed yet. It ruins champ select. I restarted the client and had the same bug!

I'm not the only one who has had this problem. Quite frequently it has happened to randoms in champ select and my friends who play. It has made pre-game discussion very difficult to impossible.

I know this is a "free to play" game and I'm not being charged a sub, but other people including myself have poured a lot of money into the game by way of skins for more than 5 years and to have a simple bug like this causing problems for over a year is unacceptable in my opinion.

In addition I have had experienced other bugs with the pre-game client (PvP.net client?) such as black screen upon entering champ select, being unable to lock in a champion (minor), chatting with friends displaying "**Chat Text input" instead of my text and repeating itself twice when enter is pressed once.

I have repaired the client, I have done a clean install and still these bugs come back not long after. This is shoddy programming.

the invisible champ select chat is self explanatory really and most people have had this.
