Kayn ult doesnt work when morgana shields even though damage goes through

PASSIVE: Whenever Kayn deals damage against enemy champions, he applies Umbral Trespass for a few seconds

I was currently playing kayn and I was dueling with morgana. She put on her black shield and I was unable to ult her for some reason. I had damaged her before she put it up and I damaged her after she had and I kept getting the message that i had to damage her before I can ult. If this is an intended counter then okay but I am unaware of it and it doesnt make any sense to me.

Because her shield blocks spell effects (CC). You have to land a spell to ult her.

It likely the coding involved in Kayn's 'tether' after he lands a spell.

Either that or its an oversight with the shield changes they made a while back, since the shield doesn't take any damage.

######99% sure its this, actually.

Try in a custom with someone while using DFT or TLD and see if you can ult after dealing all of your damage during black shield's window.
