Ping Throttling? 226 megabit download and 15ms ping on speedtest.net but never below 65ms in-game

Is 65ms normal even with pingtest regularly giving me 15 and as low as 10ms and no packet loss? Is it because I'm in California and the servers got moved to the east coast maybe? I really hope it's not that nobody on the entire west coast can expect much better than 65ms =/

Speedtest grabs the closest server it can find to give you the maximum speed of your connection; it is not necessarily going to be something near to or with similar routing to the Riot servers.

I recommend running a tracert to the servers, as it will show you where your ping starts to increase. You can do this by opening your Command Prompt and entering the following;

tracert 104.160.131.1

Well, the speedtest ping servers are different. There are a lot of them in many locations so you have fast access to servers quickly there.

League doesn't have so many different server locations, in fact I think they utilize 1. (Hopefully at least one secondary site for emergencies that isn't in another country)

As a reference for the location, I have an average of 28-33 ping and I am located pretty much smack dab in the center of the US.

Living in SoCal, too. Man, I miss those 14ms days. But from what I understand, 65ms is the normal for (So)Cal. Sad.
