recalling cancellations so inconsistent

why is it that the recalling cancellations are so inconsistent? i can hit someone with 2-3 seconds left and theirs not be cancelled followed by them all chatting "your attacks followed me to base. ol." but mine can be cancelled at literally .2 seconds or .1 second. i'm not really salty about this but i've also talked to others who have addressed this same problem. just wish they weren't so inconsistent.
