Surrendering After Opposition Surrenders - Bug

So as a joke our team decided to quickly hit the surrender option after the other team's surrender vote came through in the chat box. After a few seconds we also surrendered. The camera normally went to the enemy team nexus and watched it exploded, followed by it panning to ours where ours also exploded - yet our team is the one that lost.

Now again, its not that big a deal because it was a normal and we got a good laugh out of it - but what if a 4 queue did this as a joke in ranked and I ended up losing because of it? Their surrender vote was completed a good 5 seconds before ours AND we watched their nexus explode first.

Why did we get the defeat and they got the victory?
