Can't do the event

sure wish I could choose a side for the vs event to get the missions, but the league client has been sucking so bad even since 8.12 that I cant interact with the choose side buttons because they refuse to work. I've reinstalled league, and run it as administrator. Is anybody else getting this issue or am I just not going to be able to get the event rewards?

(edit) Initiating a full repair fixes the bug until you close the client, then it removes the missions and the buttons no longer work again.
