Mystery Gift Crash

After i login to league the menu displaying the shop, spectate match, and play buttons appears except it is dimmed and the mystery gift sound plays however the treasure chest doesn't appear. the screen remains dimmed and the sound plays. this causes my entire computer to freeze up to where my mouse will not move and i must restart my computer by holding the power button. Is there a fix to this?
