Black Screen of Reboot

So ominous, yes? Well it is exactly what is sounds like. After 1, sometimes 2 games of league in any mode, the next game doesn't load at all after leaving champ select, and instead will sit on a black screen that cant be alt-tabed out of, but must use ctrl-alt-del to get out of. The process has frozen, but the launcher is unaffected as far as i can tell. Relaunching the game doesn't work unless you either restart your computer, or put your computer to sleep for about 30 seconds to 1 min. It has become a frequent and consistent enough problem that I have stopped playing ranked, as little as I did. This happened only after the recent patch. It is my excessively amateur opinion that something is getting caught in a loop. Looking forward to any opinions or help.

Update: possibly fixed by one or both of the following; doing a full shut down of my computer instead of a restart, and being put in low priority que do to this bug keeping me out of games.
