Nidalees q hits the target no matter what right when animation starts

It's hard to explain so I'll go in depth.

Here's the first encounter with it I had.

I was being chased by nidlee and had 100 hp. She leaped at me and started the q animation right as a flashed. The q hit me while I was away from her by a flash range.

Second encounter.

I killed the nidalee as the a animation started. After she died a quarter of a second later I died from the Q (SHE WAS ALREADY DEAD! Lol) if it's not a DoT it shouldn't work like that.

Q - Takedown, not Javelin Toss right?

Takedown is an auto attack enhancement, works mostly the same as an AA. Autoattack animations have what I'll call a point-of-no-return (the attack goes out regardless of how the animation looks to you); once it passes that point, the attack will go to you no matter where you are.

If this did not work this way, then it would be impossible to melee a target moving away from you no matter how fast your movement speed, and would gimp melee champions to the point nobody could play them competitively without insane attack speed.

If you think melee AA is somehow OP because of this or mechanically broken, compare it to ranged AA; they still follow you when you move out of the base AA range, right, and you don't have a problem with it?

Ah that makes sense. It's gotta be one of the strongest single auto attacking spells in the game

Actually now that I'm thinking about it. I can think of several auto attack abilities that get cancelled because of death. (Melee autos that is)
