Sound is Crashing During Gameplay

Hey everyone,

So I've been playing League of Legends for about two years now, and I'm happy to report that I've had minimal issues with performance and hardware during my tenure - until now.

I am running a custom built gaming PC running Windows 10 (upgraded from 8) obviously 64 bit. Ever since the latest patch (5.17) I've been having this incredible infuriating issue with my audio. I am convinced that this is a League of Legends client problem because I have not experienced this while running any other application. During a League game, the sound will randomly just cut out. My sound drivers are still shown as working, but no audio will play. It's not just in the game, though. No source of audio will play. Attempts at testing the audio device under the Windows Driver Settings dialogue have resulted in a failure dialogue box.

Restarting the computer solves this problem.

Again, I am convinced that this issue is specific to League because it is the only application that causes the problem. I was wondering if anyone had any insight to this problem. I am pretty confident that it is a bug in League of Legends that causes it, although I have no other evidence to show for it. I would be really interested in knowing if anyone else had this problem?
