Shitty Game

Title is the bug. This game is designed horribly. Every other game runs smoothly on my computer except this one. I've had problems with League since I started playing 5 years ago but now it's legit just unplayable. Quit the game for a month and decided to start playing again today. I'll describe exactly what happened:

Every 2 minutes my game would freeze for a few seconds, all sounds going on outside of league of legends (discord) would shut off, and then the game would continue. My keyboard inputs were very laggy but my mouse inputs were working completely fine. It took over a minute to type a sentence and I had to click on abilities in order to use them immediately. Then I would have to disconnect and reconnect to the game to fix it, which wouldn't help because the same shit would happen two minutes later. I restarted my client after the first game and decided to play a second game. Same thing happened. I just disconnected from the game and closed the client.

I'm not even gonna bother with this game anymore. On top of the toxic community and Riot just being a terrible company in general, now the game is literally just unplayable. It's like Riot wants their game to die. Done with this shit

Maybe your PC is just "terrible" and "horrible"?

I've had similar problems to that as well, though not to the extent that you described it. I'm curious to see if anyone else is encountering issues like this.

Hi Toxicate13!

As a fellow member of the League community I'm sorry you're having this issue with the client.

League is one of the world's most-played videogames and it's virtually impossible for the devs to test the client on all possible configurations of PC that are out there! The dev team actually does work hard at stability but sometimes problems still happen.

First of all, I encourage you to read this article by the support team on how to file effective bug reports:

https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005466327-Report-a-Bug

Secondly, here's a list from the support site on how to troubleshoot lag and crash issues:

https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/categories/115001242887

Simply as one player to another, I find that League likes to have a large swap file these days - meaning that it can sometimes play poorly on machines that don't have a lot of hard drive space free (a swap file is a partition of free space on your hard drive used by the memory system to improve performance/exceed physical memory constraints). I was consistently late to lobbies after a major client update last season until I freed up space on my hard drive; but that fixed the problem right away. Driver incompatibilities or unfriendly TSR's (terminate-but-stay-resident programs, like the ones in your system tray) can also cause these issues.

I'm not a Rioter and not a member of their Support team, so these recommendations are informal. Please consider filing official reports or a support ticket if you continue to want to enjoy League and can't get these things resolved. But, really, if your HD is getting crowded, consider freeing up space or reinstalling League on a drive or partition with more space. That's the single most common cause of poor performance in the client that I'm aware of since roughly 2018 and could certainly cause lag-related issues like the ones you're having.

I hope you're able to get these issues resolved!
