Not connecting to games

When I join a game, the loading screen either freezes or doesn't even come up, just gives me a black screen causing me to force League closed. When I reopened it this last time, it decided to scan all the files and it's saying "Calculating differences". Letting my team down because the launcher decided to check EVERY file League has ever downloaded.
