Not declaring a champion kicks you out of draft for failure to select a champion

Yesterday while loading into a draft game as normal the game kicked me out before the champion bans were issued saying i failed to select a champion. this was right at the end of champion declaring and before champion bans. im not too sure how to reproduce this as this is the first time i have seen this happen but it probably involves not declaring a champion. yes my connetion is fine.
