Specate Mode saying weird things when Baron repleaces Rift Herald?

I wonder if this is intended, but during spectate mode. When Baron eats or replaces Rift Herald it says "a minion (Rift Herald) has slain the Rift Herald!"
Was wondering if anyone else has seen this before?
