The client keeps crashing my computer HELP

I don't know why but yesterday it was perfectly fine i played games it was fun no issue but today when ever i log in to the client it starts the homepage up with play and all the advertisements but then everything freezes and i literally have to restart my whole computer because nothing works. I tried putting it in compatibility mode for windows 7 because i saw the on another forum but that didn't work. I have windows 8 if that matters but i think its the new HuD but i cant tell anyone have this issue and can fix?
