In-game crash, totally freezes everything except cursor

I load in after champion select, and ANYTIME, could happen right away, or a few minutes after the game's started. My game freezes. Total freeze, nothing works, other than my cursor. I have to "sign-out" of my laptop just to force close the game and use it again. opening task manager doesn't work, because, even when it does open, my laptop is frozen on the black screen.

Been happening literally every game I try to play. I've tried every possible thing I can think of, hextech tool, re-patch, uninstalling/reinstalling. It worked fine for ONE game after reinstalling, and then it was back to crashing. Even the 1 game it worked fine, I was experience heavy fps loss. It would go from 80-90 to 01, or 05 and then 30, and back to 80-90.

I'm a casual player, but even then I'm frustrated to no ends. I don't even feel like opening the game anymore because I know what I can expect if I even try and have some fun. Amumu

If you are on Win10 try this

  1. Press Alt+Tab until you see the black window selector pop up over your client and select another application. It doesn't matter which one because it wont actually make the application show up, windows just needs to "Focus" it.

  2. Press Ctrl + Windows Key + Right Arrow to switch to a new desktop.

  3. Open task manager and end task on the unresponsive league client. Make sure to close task manager when you're done!

  4. Press Ctrl + Windows Key + Left Arrow to return to your primary desktop and reconnect to your game.

This is completely the same for me. I am on win 10 too and it just freezes, nothing else freeze because I was still talking on discord with my buddies when this happened The only thing that works is as said above just logging out and logging back in.

I used to have those issue with my old rig when one of my fans let go and the cpu was overheating.

If you are experiencing this issue consistently I would suggest installing a cpu monitor to determine exactly what is causing the system issue.

Can you post your computer specifications?

In the last few patches cpu demand has risen in the game probably riot doing behind the scenes changes to accommodate the new stuff in pre season.

It should be noted after I transitioned to my new rig all of these issues dissipated for me.

Yep just happened to me for about the 6th time in 2 weeks. Load screen stuck at 100%, can't alt+tab, use task manager or exit anything. Have to restart and games over by the time I get back on. Really fucking annoying.

Same thing happends to me, not evert game but once a day maybe. Its not possible to alt+tab and when i catl+alt+del i can open task manager but i cant use it bec, lol is still on my screen andi cant do anything, i allways have to rrestart computerr. Still when it freeze my computer works and coursor and discord and everything. This sometimes happen in loading screen too,it jusst turrns black and i cant do anything otherr than restart. Its making it really harrd to climb in end seasson when everry 3-4 games is autoloss thanks to this and tabouts on mousebutton clicks
