Anyone else have this problem? @ RIOT (would appreciate a reason why)

Sometimes when I start queue and enter champion select I type the lane I want, and it blocked me from entering until someone calls it before me. Just 2 minutes ago I tried to play mid and I called it, as usual, and pressed enter and it didn't work. I continued to spam enter until someone else wanted mid and as soon as that someone else said it , it let me enter in and I couldn't get mid. I would like to know why. because that was really dumb.
