Account Name Change

I am sure people at Riot are aware of this, but do to what seems to be confusion around Account name changes I felt I should point this out. My intention is not to make anyone look stupid or bad, just to point something out that hopefully makes life easier for people.

So a while back some new white and red branding came into effect, and there was a new League of Legends Patcher/Updater. When I attempted to log in using my League of Legends credentials I was denied access. It was explained to me that League of Legends no longer supported League of Legends accounts, only the new Riot Accounts, and was given a link to the migration process. First I logged into my League of Legends account, next I had to migrate that League of Legends account over to a new Riot account. To do that I had to pick a new account name and see if it was available. I picked the same name I use for my League of Legends account and it was available. Then I entered any other info, password e-mail etc. Success, my League of Legends account has been migrated over to a new Riot account, and I can log in and play League of Legends once more.

So now that I have a Riot account, that account, allegedly, is used to log in across all regions, for all games.

For some reason, people that already have migrated their League of Legends accounts over to Riot accounts are being asked to change their Riot account names... They don't need to. The name was already checked on Riot account creation / migration, and if was deemed available, allegedly no one else across all regions and games is using that name. Anyone else attempting to use that name would of been denied Riot account creation / migration as the name already would of been taken. Now people, that have had no other log in option other than to use an already created / migrated Riot account, with a unique name, are being asked to change it. There is no need for this. No one else is using that name, measures are already in place to prevent this. Riot has explain many times why you need a Riot account, as opposed to simply a League of Legends account, (You need one account across all regions and games), but that has nothing at all to do with why you guys seem to think Riot account name changes are necessary.

So I'm trying to save you some trouble, and have you realize, there is no need for name changes. There are no bugs or problems with them, all was taken care of when the Riot account was made in the first place, or migrated over from a League of Legends account.

You can just take that pop out, out all together I think. Right?
