null and cant type in champ select

Upvoting because this has happened to me too. to clarify, this only happens in champ select, it allows me to type but when I press enter it doesnt go into chat. although when the game starts I can type just fine.

I assumed this issue was gone when the new draft was launched, apparently not...

Are you in a clan thingy? I am but don't have enough ppl for a tag. I suspect that's the cause.

One thing I found out was that when this happens, other teammates are possibly mute as well. At least that's what another player once confirmed to me when we were discussing the issue after the match had begun.

Same thing happened to me, was fine last night. Downloaded patch 6.9 and now I can't type in lobby chat and have the null next to my name. It's not a chat ban because I can type to my hearts delight in game.

i wonder how long it will take riot to fix this... its a pretty big problem thats probably easy to solve...

I had the same problem, figured out how to fix it.

The problem:

• I created a club but I didn't have any members. No members, no Tag. Therefore "null"

The solution:

• I deleted my club, and now there is no "null" and I can type in chat.

the null thingy happened to me first game and i also couldnt use chat at all. the second game null thingy didnt show up and i can see my teams chat but i cant send anything still.
