Kill assist issues? [Game play]

I've played several games in the last 2 months where i haven't gotten assists on towers or enemy champions. And i usually play Support or ADC where those assists are really needed for the extra bit of gold. I don't know how it happens or what causes it but i'm just tired of helping one or two other people destroy a turret or kill a champion and not get an assist for it
